Storyline
Millie Calloway becomes a live-in maid at the home of the wealthy Winchester family in Great Neck, Long Island. Her room is an attic room with a window that does not open, and locks from the outside. Nina Winchester, the mother and wife of the family, shows signs of mental illness. Millie learns from neighbors that Nina tried to end her own life by overdose, and her daughter Cecelia’s life by drowning her, when Cecelia was a toddler.
