Proudly launched on the 12th of August 2016, the MCine one of the few distributors and cinema companies in Mauritius has opened its door at ‘Super U’ hypermarket complex in Central Flacq.
MCiné Flacq has three halls. Two of them have 128 seats while the largest is equipped with 224 seats. “This is an investment of ten million rupees,” says Rajesh Callicharan of Mount Ida Ltd, a company which already manages MCiné at Trianon, and Novelty in Curepipe.
This is a good initiative as the MCiné becomes the only cinema in this part of Mauritius responding to a great demand, since it has been 12 years that the last cinema halls have been closed.
This concept of re-introducing movie entertainment in complexes are becoming ideal locations which draw crowds during the festive seasons or fans for blockbuster movies. And it is likely to succeed as following to the development of modern theatres at Bagatelle and La Croisette where the ‘Star’ cinemas have been running successfully since the last few years.
