Storyline
A descendant of a line of privateers and shipowners from Saint-Malo who became a stock in Mauritius (formerly Isle of France) in 1750, Amédée Maingard, who was determinedly committed to the future of his country, had something to keep in mind. Amédée Maingard, a man, just a man, “neither English nor French”, a Mauritian in the service of a sovereign country whose nationality and citizenship he wore with panache!
