August’s movie line-up is throwing pretty much everything at the big screen: dinosaurs, Awarapan 2, Insidious 6 and Jason Statham once again finding himself in a situation that will almost certainly require violence.
And honestly, that variety is exactly what makes August interesting.

PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie – Tiny Pups, Huge Trouble
The PAW Patrol is going prehistoric.
After landing on a mysterious island filled with dinosaurs, the pups team up with Rex and soon find themselves dealing with Mayor Humdinger, reckless mining and a suddenly very active volcano.
Yes, the stakes are bigger. Yes, the dinosaurs are adorable. And yes, the film even features new music from the Backstreet Boys.
PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie arrives on 14 August 2026, giving families one very prehistoric reason to head to the cinema.
Best for: Families, younger moviegoers and parents who are secretly just as invested.
Awarapan 2 – The Heartbreak Is Back
Nearly two decades after Awarapan, Emraan Hashmi returns as Shivam in a sequel built around the same mix of romance, pain, redemption and emotional devastation.
Disha Patani joins the cast, while the music is already leaning heavily into the melancholic mood fans associate with the original.
Awarapan 2 lands on 14 August 2026, so prepare your playlists accordingly.
Best for: Bollywood romantics and anyone who enjoys being emotionally attacked by a soundtrack.
The End of Oak Street – Suburbia, But Make It Terrifying
Imagine waking up and discovering your entire street has been transported somewhere completely unknown.
That is the setup for The End of Oak Street, written and directed by It Follows filmmaker David Robert Mitchell.
The sci-fi survival film stars Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor as members of a family trying to understand what happened and survive whatever is waiting outside.
The mystery begins on 14 August 2026.
Best for: Sci-fi fans who like survival stories and a big dose of “what is happening?”
Insidious: Out of the Further – We Are Going Back In
Because apparently The Further still has unfinished business.
Insidious: Out of the Further follows Gemma, a young mother who discovers she can enter the terrifying supernatural realm and, more importantly, bring things back from it.
Not ideal.
The film also brings back Lin Shaye as Elise Rainier, giving longtime fans at least one familiar face to cling to while everything else goes horribly wrong.
The nightmares return on 21 August 2026.
Best for: Horror fans and people who enjoy sleeping with the lights on afterwards.
Mutiny – Never Frame Jason Statham
At this point, villains should really know better.
In Mutiny, Jason Statham plays Cole Reed, who witnesses the murder of his billionaire boss and is then framed for the crime.
His attempt to uncover the truth pulls him into a much larger conspiracy involving a cargo ship, dangerous enemies and presumably several people who will regret underestimating him.
Mutiny hits cinemas on 21 August 2026.
Best for: Action fans who know exactly what they came for.
