If you’ve watched Drishyam, you already know that October 2 is not just another date.
Every year, October 2 comes around and Bollywood fans suddenly remember the exact same thing: Vijay Salgaonkar went to Panaji, attended a satsang, ate pav bhaji and came home the next day.
And in 2026, the joke gets even better. Because Drishyam: The Conclusion is scheduled to hit cinemas on October 2 itself.
October 2. You Remember, Right?
If you have watched Drishyam, you probably do not need much of an explanation.
Vijay Salgaonkar, played by Ajay Devgn, spends a large part of the film making sure his family remembers exactly where they were on October 2 and October 3.
The story goes something like this:
- The family travelled to Panaji.
- They attended a satsang. They ate pav bhaji.
- They stayed overnight.
- And then they came home.
Simple. Except absolutely none of it is simple.
Drishyam Is Coming Back
This is where things get almost too perfect.
After Drishyam and Drishyam 2, Ajay Devgn is returning as Vijay Salgaonkar for the third and final chapter, officially titled Drishyam: The Conclusion.
And yes, the release date is 2 October 2026. Because apparently, Vijay really does have a thing for that date.
The new film brings back familiar faces including Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav, while Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj join the story in new roles.
How an Alibi Became a Meme
The reason October 2 stuck with audiences is because Vijay repeats the story again and again.
He makes sure every member of the family remembers the same details so that, when questioned, nobody slips up.
The result? The audience ended up memorising the alibi too.
Years later, every October 2, social media fills up with Drishyam references & memes.
So, What Happened on October 2 Again?
You already know.
Vijay Salgaonkar and his family went to Panaji. They attended a satsang. They ate pav bhaji. They stayed overnight.
And now, years later, the story is coming back to cinemas on the exact same date.
Coincidence? We’ll let Vijay handle that one.
And if the police ask? You did not hear it from us.
October 2. Yaad hai na?
